PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT FOR PARTICIPATION TO THE WORKSHOP

THE PAPER THEATRE

As part of the European Puppet & Design project, the CTA of Gorizia, project leader, organizes a workshop entitled The Paper Theater.
The starting point of the workshop is paper, a material that offers infinite possibilities to create different objects, even three-dimensional, of different sizes, thicknesses and colors. Various models of puppets, abstract shapes and paper masks will be produced, a series of materials that will inspire a second phase of the work: the creation of a larger puppet.
By folding, cutting and combining basic paper shapes it will be possible to experiment, interact with other participants, add original details to transform simple shapes into something more complex. In addition to experimenting with the creation of small and large works of paper, there will be an opportunity to try to manipulate and give life to the objects produced
The workshop will take place in Gorizia, at the Dora Bassi room in via Garibaldi 7, from 7 to 11 June 2022, for a total of 20 hours, and is aimed at European citizens of any age up to a maximum of 12 participants. If the situation does not allow it, the workshop can also take place online with a maximum of 20 participants.
The activity may be oriented towards the creation of a final performance-installation that sees the entire group of participants as the protagonist
The workshop will be led by Brane Solce, a Slovenian artist who began his theatrical activity in 1982 by founding the Lutkovno Gledališče PAPILU company. He has participated in numerous puppetry festivals throughout Europe as well as in Finland, Israel, Japan and the United States.

The deadline for registration to the laboratory is set on 3 June 2022 at 12.00.

The project managers of the CTA of Gorizia will evaluate candidate’s motivations, skills, competences and experiences derived from the curriculum, and will communicate the results of the evaluation to the admitted and not admitted.
